Stress is something that every person experiences at some point in their lives. Nurses spend so much energy providing physical, emotional and mental support to so many patients and families that it can be highly demanding on them and lead to high levels of work related stress (when the pressures and demands of a job lead to damaging levels of stress).

This can then cause an impact on nurses' health as very often they don't take time out to look after their own mental health, and can also impact upon care given to patients.

This website is designed to explain what stress means, show the various ways of recognising stress or risks of stress and explore how to prevent and manage stress, to ensure that nurses maintain a healthy balance between their work lives and home lives.

Managing stress is easier than you think...
